Important notes
VESPA GT,GTS,GTV 125-300 AUTOM. SCOOTER, FROM 2003
Vespa GT, GTS, GTV Automatic Scooters
All four-stroke 125 cc to 300 cc models from 2003 onwards
- The Vespa models built since 2003 with four-valve, four-stroke engines, liquid cooling, fuel injection (as from GTS) and computer-controlled catalytic converter (as from GTS) are taking the market by storm. They are every bit the equal of modern motorbikes and cars in terms of their engineering, and are far superior to the old two-stroke Vespas as regards handling, exhaust technology, performance and ease of maintenance. Their low consumption makes them more economical than the two-strokes, and their minimal CO2 emissions are much more environmentally friendly. In spite of all this, the new Vespa has virtually the same nostalgic appeal as the old models.
- The chassis of all the new-generation Vespas is identical: Steel body, disc brakes front and back, swing arm with one strut at the front and two struts at the back.
- 152 pages, 331 photos, incl.100 in colour, 53 drawings, colour wiring diagrams, format 14.8 x 21 cm,
The book covers the following models:
- the Euro 2 compliant GT models (GT 125, GT 200), produced from 2003, at first exclusively with carburettor and open-loop catalytic converter
- the Euro 3 compliant GT and GTS models, built from 2005, also with carburettor technology (GT 125, GTS 125, GTV 125)
- the GTS models launched in 2005, with electronically controlled fuel injection and computer-controlled three-way cat (GTS 250 i.e., from 2008 GTS Super 300 i.e., from 2009 GTS Super 125 i.e.)
- As usual in this series, the book describes the entire technology of the vehicles presented, and also gives countless maintenance and repair tips. An exception has to be made with regard to working on the ignition and fuel injection systems: As a rule, these jobs have to be left to the expert who has special measuring equipment.
A richly illustrated overview of the scooter models rounds off the book.
