DROP POINT blade:
The spine of a drop point blade slopes downwards towards the tip. This minimises the risk of accidental piercing. The blade itself is slightly bulbous and has a tough thick tip for heavier tasks. Knives with drop point blades are tough and solid which makes them extremely versatile.
420 HC steel:
420 HC steel is Buck's standard blade material because it combines the wear resistance of a high-strength carbon steel with the corrosion resistance of stainless steel. Add to this the special Buck heat treatment process, and you have an extremely user-friendly blade that offers both outstanding edge retention and excellent corrosion resistance plus a high degree of hardness and durability. Furthermore, this type of blade is very easy to resharpen. A Rockwell hardness of 58 Rc is achieved.
IMPORTANT:
Please follow the safety instructions provided under "Documents".
Buck is characterised by the latest metal processing combined with a great tradition. The family-owned business, now in its fourth generation, produces knives which are extremely popular with hunters, anglers and bikers. Creativity and innovation have always been an integral part of the company's history. Even as a young blacksmith apprentice, founder Hoyt Buck developed a heat treatment method which gave his blades exceptional edge retention. In 1964, his son Al Buck revolutionised the knife industry with the lockable folding knife Folding Hunter. Today, Buck is one of the world's leading knife manufacturers.

MAINTENANCE:
Stainless steel should be cleaned regularly like all other materials, especially after exposure to salty air (near the coast), and also at regular intervals.
Water can easily collect in corners, edges and screw connections, resulting in corrosion. So careful cleaning is important, and if necessary screws should be undone in order to clean the parts thoroughly.
Do not leave rusty steel parts against stainless steel to avoid the rust "contamination".
