Huge attention was paid to the term “horsepower”. On the one hand, this term refers to engine power, but on the other hand it also stands for the ability to make a difference. This “horsepower” is embodied in the years of development at Gaerne which it took to create the most comfortable, lightest and safest motocross boots the company has ever produced. Gaerne engaged professional riders for the *SG 22*, developing and testing every intermediate step with them until the final version. The aim was to meet the requirements of every off-road rider. Technical explanations:

• The “Razorback” provides perfected movement geometry that allows the shoe to adapt better to ankle movements
• The Gaerne “Dual Stage Pivot System 1.0" protects the ankle with two end stops which limit hyper-extension, hyper-flexion and lateral movements
• The “Microshock” heel pad has a rubber compound with different densities to provide a cushioning effect in the event of micro-impacts while cornering
• Inside, “Memory-Foam” adapts perfectly to the foot and thus enables an absolutely safe riding experience, better than any construction with a separate inner shoe can ever provide

Other special features:
The insides of the *SG22* are equipped with “Grip Guard 1.0” elements, with a composition that was developed in collaboration with professional riders. This improves protection and optimises the friction coefficient for a better riding experience. The “Dual Density Longlife” sole is equipped with double density inserts which provide optimal grip on the pedal and unparalleled durability, while the “Microshock” heel pad provides cushioning and traction when walking.

The “Frontal Shin Guard” plate developed by Gaerne can be placed in two positions that allows multiple configurations and also works together with the upper fastening buckle. This makes it easier to insert knee pads and allows larger calves to be better accommodated. The “Steel Bumper 1.0” toe cap has a reduced thickness reducing weight without compromising optimum protection.

The “Aluminium Superlight Buckles” have a painted finish with visible details. The upper buckle can be adjusted in three positions. The AirVents facilitate the release of heat and moisture and work in synergy with the new inner liner. The special “3D Main Body Toe” box features a pre-moulded three-dimensional design with a single articulated element near the closure buckle on the outside. This configuration reduces the height between the sole and the shift protection, increasing the speed of shifting.
