These sunglasses look a lot like the "shades" worn in the 1940s, 50s and 60s, mostly by American TV and movie stars. But in fact, they're *Holbrook* sunglasses from Oakley. A perfect combination of super-cool, timeless, classic design and modern Oakley technology. Oakley has upgraded the famous frame design by adding metal rivets and Oakley icons, creating quite a sensation with this unique style.

WHAT IS PRIZM ?
The human eye is particularly sensitive to certain wavelengths of light, which enable us to perceive the finest detail. PRIZM is a revolutionary bioengineering technology which optimises lenses for goggles and sunglasses for specific sports. It dramatically improves vision and contrast in the snow. PRIZM lenses cover a wider range of lighting conditions than conventional tints. A lens change is not necessary, even when the conditions change.
HOW DOES PRIZM WORK?
The human eye can perceive the finest details in certain ranges of the light spectrum. But in the snow, with its flat, low-contrast light, that detail gets lost. PRIZM lenses split the light into individual colours. Rather like the graphic equaliser on a hi-fi system, which adjusts the bass and treble, PRIZM lenses amplify the colours that create contrast and filter out the rest. The result is clear vision and sharply defined details, even in low light.
- 100 percent UV protection:
Plutonite, the material from which Oakley lenses are made, gives optimum protection against ultraviolet radiation. In fact, even the clear lenses block 100% of total UV light.

Oakley HDO technology makes all objects appear exactly in their original position and their actual size. This precise visual perception is a great advantage, especially for sport. All Oakley goggles and sunglasses are equipped with this technology.

Legendary motocross goggles from California
Oakley is one of the world's best known manufacturers of sports glasses and goggles. It all started in California in 1975, when company founder Jim Jannard developed rubber grips for motocross bikes that provided more grip in wet conditions. Today, the same patented material (Unobtanium) prevents Oakley sports glasses from slipping off your nose, especially when you start to sweat in the heat of the action. In fact, Oakley is greatly influenced by Jannard's inventive spirit in other ways, too. The company has filed more than 800 patents. PRIZM is one example. Glasses featuring this technology can filter different frequencies in the light spectrum, depending on the activity, to provide detailed and contrast-rich vision. That's important for recognising hazards on the road in good time, for example.
The first glasses were produced in 1980, likewise for the American motocross scene. Nowadays the name Oakley is famous for its wide range of sports glasses and sunglasses of all kinds.
